Pushing the crags and woods aside, the waterfalls and the pure stream of Oirase Gorge flow for 14km. You will enjoy cycling parallel the gorge on National Route 102, because it feels like going through a tunnel of trees. After taking a break at Ishigedo Resthouse, the dynamic natural scenes, such as wild Ashura Flow, Kumoi Fall (falls in three parts), and the biggest fall of the gorge, Choshi Ohtaki, continue. Oirase Gorge is also famous as a gathering place. It is known by the alias "Empire of Flowerless Plant" because of all the mosses and ferns that grow naturally there. Observing with a loupe, you will be obsessed with the adorable ecology. Arriving at Nenokuchi, finally Lake Towada appears. Put on your last spurt!! Let's eat Kokanee Salmon and Towada Barayaki (local delicacy) to get your energy back at the resthouse.
